How to shape, tweeze and groom your eyebrows into straight korean style brows

Thinking back I’ve always loved straight brows. Even before it caught on in Korea πŸ™‚ I remember reading Dolly magazine and Miranda Kerr was a shy 14 year old teenager that entered the modelling contest. She won, of course because she’s absolutely gorgeous, and I thought she was sooo pretty!!

The most striking thing about her though was her natural thick and luscious straight brows.
How cute was she?? I remember after she won Dolly, I went straight to the mirror and tried to change my arched brows into something more straight, it was kind of a mess really and I had no idea what I was doing. It wasn’t straight at all.
Later I figured growing it out au natural was the closest I was going to get to straight brows, so I walked around with overgrown brows for years.
Fast forward and after many many years, I’m slowly trying to perfect the straight brow. Once I had it right I noticed how many more people started mistaking me for being Korean. It’s amazing how one feature on your face can suddenly change people’s perception of you.
I launched the Wonderful World of Wengie with a straight eyebrow tutorial, and since then, I have been getting requests on how to actually tweeze, pluck and groom them into shape before even putting the eyebrow pen onto your face.
So I grew my eyebrows out for you guys so I can show you my process of shaping them πŸ™‚ This is important if your eyebrows are much more arched to being with. Id you don’t shape them first, yo may find yourself with really THICK eyebrows once you straighten an arched brow. Starting off with a straighter brow will allow you to achieve thinner more elegant straight brows.
Other celebrities with beautiful straight brows include:
  • Natalie Portman
  • Jessica Alba
  • Cara Devine
  • Most K-Pop celebrities
I’ve tried to include a lot more detail in this video so, I wish you guys luck on your eyebrow shaping journey!! Remember it takes a lot of practice to get it right for your eyebrow, so its ok if you don’t get it right the first time πŸ™‚

What shape are your natural eyebrows :)?? Mine are naturally arched!!

Leave a comment with yours :)??

Much love oxox

Wengie

Omg, this is just great. I've been working for a while to get my eyebrows naturally straight. I still have to shade it in to make it look better though.

I've been trying to shape my eyebrows straighter for awhile! I remember right before my senior year…I literally plucked the life out of my eyebrows. Now I regret it because my eyebrows are growing so awkwardly OTL

    Thanks for this post!

Mine are thick and slightly arch. Used to trim and shaped them to be not so straight (looks slightly more chic look) when I have a short bob hair, but now hair is longer, I let my brows to grow longer, it will become straighter (cuter and gentle look). Then I will just need to apply eyebrow mascara to match my hair color, and viola! More innocent look with straight eyebrow. Lol

Miranda Kerr is stunning!! She is one of my favourite models of all time~~ My eyebrows are naturally quite full, has a slight arch and thins out slightly towards the end.

I wish you would stop putting everything in videos, What is the point to have a blog when all content just is from Youtube? Then you could just stick to a Youtube channel only. No point in this blog if more than every second post is just a video from Youtube.
I personally hate video tutorials like hell and never watch them, never will. I love reading blogs though and watching photo tutorials. THIS is why I even follow blogs. You could, instead of just posting a video – which might be helpful for some people, but these people can just follow your Youtube Channel if they are into videos – at least add some photos to the blog. I have unfollowed several blogs who started out as actual blogs, and then, over the years, became "Link to my Youtube video here"-blogs only. I don't even understand why people insist on keeping up this charade. I don't come to blogger to watch videos, I would go straight to Youtube if I was interested in that.
I guess my comment might come off pretty hash, but I have "lost" so many blogs I used to love because the owners of the blogs forgot what the platform was for and only posted videos.

It would be very much appreciated, if you would posts some actual content to your tutorials that were not videos. I would be very interested in a tutorial about straight eyebrows, but I have no nerves to watch videos of girls spending half of the video posing and smiling into the camera.

      Hi Kahvi,

I've actually been thinking about this too so thanks for bringing it up. I'm always open for feedback to improve my posts πŸ™‚ I'm trying to find the right balance between the videos/ blog content. It's actually great that you metnioned you prefer in blogging style. Perhaps for my next tutorial I'll try and give photo instructions and then attach the video at the end for those of you that prefer watching it in video format.

I know some girls find it easier to learn through video and watching it happen. For my next video I'll try and make it more robust on blog form. Unfortunately I'm getting so busy it's hard for me to maintain the 2 properly and you can probably tell right?? I'll try and make sure I make these posts better πŸ™‚

I hope for my next one you can give me some feedback on it :DD I will try and update this one too ^^.

My eyebrows are naturally semi-arched. I'm really enjoying doing Korean-style brows these days, they're so low-maintenance! C:
