There are so many hacks out there but what sets this list apart is that these 10 life hacks I actually find useful!!
Watch the video to see them in action!
Use a razor to remove lint off old jumpers to give them new life
So I sometimes ignore my favourite jumpers when they start to look old and shaggy!! This is because as you wear it and wash it, lint builds up and it no longer looks fresh! If you don’t have a lint remover try using a razor to remove the lint! It’s soo easy and makes your jumpers look brand new super quickly! Look at the difference!! My jumper is now refreshed!
2. Use a staple remover to open a tight keyring to avoid hurting yourself/your nails
I totally dread removing keys from key rings because lets face it, sometimes they just make it impossible to do and these pretty nails don’t make it any easier! Next time use a staple remover to open up the key ring! Then to remove it just simply spin the ring around while shifting over the staple remover and you’ll get there in no time!! To add a key on open it up and hook the key on and shift it along till it’s in the ring!! There we have it!! Super simple even with nails like mine XD
3. Always forgetting things when you leave in a hurry? Put important things under your keys so you won’t leave without them
I’m so forgetful that locking myself out isn’t actually that rare!! If you also tend to forget things and you’re constantly rushing out the door in the morning just stack everything on top or under of whatever you tend to always remember, whether it’s your phone or your keys and you won’t forget everything else!!
4. Cut a cardboard to fit inside a zip lock bag to protect your important documents from folding or getting wet
I tend to always shove things in my backpack with reckless abandon and they come out looking.. Well a bit sad! but if you have any important documents that you simply can’t afford to bend or get soaked, try getting a zip lock bag and some cardboard cut to size so that it just fits in the opening of the bag. Slip it in and you’ll have a little pouch that you will protect your important papers so you can put receipts, cheques, business cards or things that you want to keep looking crisp! (like a letter from your crush)
5. Too lazy to fold your washing? Dump it on your bed so you are forced to when you sleep
So sometimes I avoid folding my clothes for so long I just end up using clothes straight off the clothing line XD – don’t judge. If this is you try putting all your clothes on you’re bed so you can’t go to sleep until you fold them! Cos you gotta do them eventually amirite????
6. Line the bottom of your bin with old newspaper to soak up all the dirty juices – also you can attach an upside down wall hook to prevent the handles from coming up with heavier objects
I don’t know why but somehow normal garbage always turns into liquid and makes a home at the bottom of your bin! To avoid this from happening take a few layers of old newspaper and line the bottom for your garbage bag so that it can soak up all the nasties before it hits your bin!! No surprises! Also a handy trick to keep your bag handles from popping out when you throw away heavy things is to secure it an upside down wall hook! Ta daa it won’t do the surprise crumble when it’s crunch time!
7. Draw a line on your shower handle to get your perfect temperature every time without guessing
If I counted all the minutes I’ve stood naked in the shower waiting for the water to get the right temperature. Wel.. ok TMI. But if you use a marker to mark out your favourite temperature you’ll never have to do this again!! YAY!! If you’re renting a tip is to use a whiteboard marker and different colours if more than one person wants to do this! Perfect shower temperature every time!! Some privacy now please!
8. Use a colander at the end of your cereal to avoid a crummy powdery bowl.
Cereal stops being crunchy when you get towards the end of the pack. To avoid a mouth full of mushy grossness, try using a colander to sift out all the little crumbs so you can get to all of the full sized crunchies!!! You can use the crumbs for a whole bunch of other stuff, like making cookies, or just mixing them with a scoop of ice cream
9. Always doubling up on shopping items by accident? Take a photo of your fridge next time you make a shopping list as well
Who can remember every single item in your fridge or cupboards? Not me!!! I can’t even remember what I did yesterday so I always waste money buying things I already have!! An easy hack is to take a photo of your fridge completely open and keep it on your phone so if you ever need to double check you can just zoom into your photo! If you have too much in your fridge you can take multiple angles and closeups to avoid missing anything in the back! Then when your next shopping and unsure if you have something at home already, just check it on your phone
10. Don’t cross out words or numbers if you don’t want people to see what you wrote. Instead write over them a few times with new words/numbers
Did you know that if you write your credit card number or phone number on a piece of paper and cross it out normally you can still make out the numbers?? Next time try writing and scribbling random numbers on top of it and that way no one can ever go through your trash and charge shopping on you!! You can also do this with letters too if you have secret notes you don’t want anyone to see!
